NUJ mourns seven Gombe Journalists killed in road accident

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of seven journalists from Gombe State who died in a road traffic accident.

In a condolence message, the Union described the incident as a painful loss to the journalism profession in Gombe and across the country, noting that the deceased journalists were dedicated professionals who served the public with commitment and integrity.

On behalf of the National Executive Council, the NUJ extended its sympathy to the Gombe State Council of the Union, as well as to the families, friends, and colleagues of the victims. The Union said it stands in solidarity with them during this difficult period and prayed for comfort and strength for the bereaved families.

The NUJ also stressed that the tragedy highlights the need for stronger road safety measures and responsible driving, especially for professionals who frequently travel while carrying out their duties.

The Union prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed colleagues.
