Oborevwori courts investors, orders immediate fix of Ubeji–Egbokodo–Refinery Road

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged investors, especially Deltans at home and abroad to seize the momentum of the state’s improving business climate and commit their resources to Delta.

The governor made the call on Friday, November 28, 2025 in Ubeji, Warri South Local Government Area, while commissioning the newly built Swiss International Rancho Valerie Hotel, a multi-million-naira hospitality and tourism investment.

Declaring that “the time to invest in Delta State is now,” Oborevwori said the project stands as a visible sign of the economic resurgence of Warri and the renewed confidence investors have in the state.

“Warri is rising again. Delta State is progressing steadily. The shadows of yesterday have given way to the bright possibilities of today and the greater promises of tomorrow,” he said.

In a decisive move, the Governor ordered the immediate rehabilitation of the failed sections of the Ubeji/Egbokodo/Refinery Road, describing the intervention as essential for supporting business growth and community access.

Oborevwori noted that the hotel’s establishment will not only offer premium hospitality services but will also boost local businesses, create jobs, strengthen community peace, and advance the state’s socio-economic development.

“This hotel is not just another project; it is a clear statement that Delta State is open for business. It affirms that our state is safe, investor-friendly, and capable of hosting world-class hospitality and tourism ventures,” he added.

He applauded the hotel’s owner, Mr. Mode Akoma, calling the project an inspiring example of vision and determination. The Governor praised Akoma for choosing to invest in his home community, describing it as an expression of genuine commitment to Delta State’s progress.

“If you had invited me to commission a hotel you built outside Delta State, I would not have attended. But I am proud that you chose to develop your community. This project brings jobs, brings peace, and brings progress,” he stated.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to infrastructure renewal, security enhancement, and investor-friendly reforms under the MORE Agenda, the Governor said the success of the project highlights the vast investment opportunities across the state.

In his welcome remarks, the hotel’s General Manager, Mr. Todowede Opeyemi, assured that the facility will deliver top-tier hospitality services that meet global standards. He said the management is committed to helping unlock Delta’s tourism potential.

“Every guest who visits us deserves more than just a stay; they deserve an unforgettable experience, one that reflects our culture, our hospitality, and our warmth as a people,” Opeyemi said.
