Oborevwori flags off ₦59.7bn Uromi Junction Flyover, Monday, Jan. 19

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, will on Monday, January 19, 2026, perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the ₦59.7 billion Uromi Junction Flyover in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area.

The project forms part of the administration’s ongoing drive to expand and modernise critical urban infrastructure across the state.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, the ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., with invited guests expected to be seated by 10:00 a.m.

Construction has already commenced at the project site along the Lagos–Asaba Expressway, with the contractor, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, mobilising to site and beginning preliminary works ahead of the official flag-off.

The Uromi Junction Flyover is the second major flyover project to be flagged off within a week, coming shortly after the ₦39.3 billion Otovwodo Junction Flyover in Ughelli.

With this project, the Oborevwori administration is now executing five flyover projects across Delta State, as part of a broader infrastructure renewal agenda aimed at reducing traffic congestion, enhancing road safety, and boosting economic activities in major urban centres
