Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has extended heartfelt New Year felicitations to the people of the state, expressing profound gratitude to God for His protection and grace throughout 2025.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor described the dawn of 2026 as a season of renewed hope and fresh beginnings, calling on citizens to embrace the future with optimism, courage, and unity.
Governor Oborevwori specifically commended the sacrifices, resilience, and patience exhibited by Deltans, attributing the state’s recorded progress across key sectors to the people’s peaceful disposition and shared commitment to advancement.
He reassured residents that their aspirations remain central to his administration’s policies, promising to deepen efforts in the New Year on good governance, infrastructural renewal, job creation, youth empowerment, security, and inclusive economic growth—all under the umbrella of his MORE Agenda.
The Governor urged all residents to continue shunning violence and to instead uphold values of hard work, tolerance, and patriotism, emphasizing that enduring peace is the essential foundation for sustainable development and prosperity.
He further called on political leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to strengthen collaboration with the government, noting that building a stronger, fairer, and more prosperous Delta is a shared responsibility.
