Oborevwori Hails Leadership Newspaper award, dedicates Honour to Deltans

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has described his recognition as Governor of the Year 2025 by Leadership Newspapers as a call to greater service, dedicating the award to the people of the state.

The governor was honoured at the 18th Leadership Conference and Awards held on Thursday in Abuja. In a statement issued following the event, Oborevwori said he was deeply honoured by the recognition, which he noted would further strengthen his administration’s resolve to deliver on its mandate.

“My sincere appreciation goes to Leadership Newspapers for this honour, and I also extend my gratitude to my dependable Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, for standing in to receive the award on my behalf,” the governor said.

He added: “This recognition only strengthens our resolve to do MORE, to serve with greater dedication, deliver meaningful development, and advance the prosperity and well-being of every Deltan.”

The award comes amid ongoing infrastructure and policy initiatives by the Oborevwori administration under its MORE agenda, which focuses on meaningful development, opportunities for all, realistic reforms, and enhanced peace and security.
