Oborevwori mourns Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, condoles Diri, Bayelsa

Governor  Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori conveyed his deepest condolences to his Bayelsa State counterpart, Governor Douye Diri, the Ewhrudjakpo family, the government, and the entire people of Bayelsa State.

Governor Oborevwori celebrated the late Deputy Governor, fondly remembered as “the man of many proverbs,” as a figure of remarkable wisdom, intellect, and humility. He highlighted Senator Ewhrudjakpo’s indelible contributions to public service and his lasting positive impact on the Niger Delta region and Nigeria.

“I stand in solidarity with Governor Diri, the bereaved family, the government, and the people of Bayelsa State in mourning this grievous loss,” Governor Oborevwori stated.

“Senator Ewhrudjakpo was a true team player, a steadfast partner in leadership, and a veritable fountain of wisdom. His passing is a poignant reminder of life’s fragility.”

The Governor prayed for divine comfort and strength for Governor Diri, the family of the deceased, and all Bayelsans, urging them to find solace in the enduring legacy of service and dedication he championed.

“On behalf of my family, the Government, and the people of Delta State, I pray Almighty God grants Governor Diri, the Ewhrudjakpo family, and all who mourn, the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,” he added.

Senator Ewhrudjakpo, who served as Deputy Governor under Governor Douye Diri, was widely revered across the Niger Delta for his eloquence, profound understanding of governance, and his distinctive, proverb-rich communication style.
