Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has restated his administration’s commitment to fostering literary excellence, intellectual engagement, and knowledge-driven development across the state.

Represented by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, the governor said his government will continue to champion initiatives that promote creativity, scholarship and the broader pursuit of national progress.

Speaking at the public presentation of Hallmarks of Labour, authored by Izoma Philip Chikwuendo Asiodu, Oborevwori described literature as a powerful tool for shaping values, building character, and inspiring future generations. He noted that Delta State remains proud to associate with platforms that celebrate exceptional contributions to nation-building through the written word.

Delivering the governor’s address, Prof. Tonukari praised Asiodu’s outstanding literary legacy, describing the new book as a reflection of the virtues of hard work, commitment and integrity. He urged budding writers to keep pushing the boundaries of excellence in their craft.

The event, held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Metropolitan Club in Victoria Island, Lagos, drew an audience of prominent Nigerians and literary enthusiasts. Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd.), chaired the occasion.

Speakers at the ceremony also examined the book’s themes, underscoring its focus on the values that anchor genuine achievement and drive national development.
