Oborevwori reaffirms partnership with church, faith institutions for peace, social renewal in Delta

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has restated his administration’s unwavering commitment to partnering with the Church and other faith-based institutions to strengthen peace, moral values and social development across the state.

The Governor made this known on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the dedication of the Isoko Christian House in Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area. He was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Special Duties (Government House), Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza.

Describing the Isoko Christian House as a “sanctuary of unity, worship and divine purpose,” the Governor said the edifice stands as a profound testament to the collective faith, resilience and vision of the Isoko Christian community. He commended the Isoko Christian Leaders Forum, the Isoko Christian Association of Nigeria and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for working together to build not just a physical structure but a symbol of harmony, strength and hope for future generations.

“As Governor of Delta State, I am deeply inspired by this initiative,” Oborevwori said. “It reminds us that when the body of Christ stands united, no challenge is insurmountable. Our administration remains committed to collaborating with the Church and other faith-based groups to promote peace, moral guidance and meaningful social transformation across Delta State.”

He emphasized that the Church remains a vital pillar of nation-building—shaping values, fortifying families, and nurturing citizens who uphold truth, justice and integrity. “Together, we will continue to build a Delta State where righteousness exalts the land and justice flows like a mighty river,” he added, referencing Amos 5:24.

Governor Oborevwori further highlighted that the Isoko Christian House will serve as a centre for interdenominational fellowship, mentorship, dialogue and outreach. According to him, it will be a space where hearts are uplifted, leaders groomed and communities transformed through the union of faith and service.

“As we dedicate this House today, let us also rededicate ourselves to the service of God, the unity of the Church and the progress of our people,” he urged. “May this moment usher in a new era of revival, faith and impact in the Isoko Nation and beyond.”

He expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Isoko Christian community for their vision, sacrifice and steadfast faith, praying that the Isoko Christian House will remain filled with God’s presence, echo with songs of praise, and stand forever as a beacon of hope and transformation.
