The Director General (DG) Of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) Hon. Joan Onyemaechi, has restated commitment to ensure that security measures and modern shop design are put in place by car wash operators in Asaba capital Territory.
Onyemaechi stated this Tuesday while addressing car wash operators within Asaba Capital Territory in her office on the need to ensure security measures are put in place in their business environment and operate their business in accordance with the modern shop design that would befit the status of the state capital.
She decried the rate at which car wash businesses were springing up in the State, adding that if the practices are not standardized, it would set the stage for security challenges and affect the aesthetic beauty of the Capital Territory.
The DG said that the meeting was necessitated by the need to curb the security challenges among car wash operators and the building of modern shop design to enhance the aesthetic of the capital territory.
She therefore called on that car wash owners to should be very vigilant about the type of persons they employ, adding that they should always do proper documentations of their employees by taking their personal records including their sureties and summiting same to the police.
She promised to continue the exercise, just as she advised those who want to venture into car wash businesses to seek information on necessary operational guidelines.
Hon. Onyemaechi stressed that the agency would continue to sanction car wash operators whose facilities violate the Delta State Capital Territory Development standards and laws through contravention and seal she said.
Some of the car wash owners suggested that operators should install CCTV cameras in their shops to enhance effective security checks, adding that the urgent need for a union is also necessary to guide and regulate the activities of car wash operators.
