Dr. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi, describing his passing as a profound loss to Delta State and the nation.
In a condolence message issued on December 19, 2025, Osuoza extolled the late senator as a formidable politician, dogged fighter and accomplished statesman whose imprint on Delta State politics and Nigeria’s legislative history would endure.
He recalled that Senator Nwaoboshi served with distinction as a two-term Chairman of the Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and later represented Delta North in the Senate on the platform of the PDP, where he was known for his courage, outspoken nature and unwavering commitment to the interests of his people.
According to Osuoza, the late senator was a man of deep conviction who never shied away from defending what he believed was right, regardless of the political cost. He noted that in what he described as an act of rare wisdom and foresight, Senator Nwaoboshi made peace with all those he had political differences with before his passing, a gesture he said reflected political maturity, a large heart and spiritual preparedness.
While mourning the loss with profound grief, Osuoza said there was consolation in the legacy of service, reconciliation and courage left behind by the former lawmaker. He prayed that God would forgive all his transgressions and grant his soul eternal rest.
Osuoza also extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late senator, the All Progressives Congress (APC), his political associates across party lines, and the people of Delta North, praying that God grants them the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
