The Senior Special Assistant on Community Development to the Governor of Delta State, High Comrade Roy Umunna has congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his hard fought and hard won victory at the Supreme Court.
Umunna, a chieftain of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), notable grassroots mobilizer and retired director of environmental health services, likened the ordeal of the governor who went through 38 legal challenges to emerge victorious at the end, to the Biblical declaration in Psalm 34: 19 that “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
The former labour leader said: ” Your Excellency, Sir, this victory certainly proves beyond doubt that the mandate you received from Deltans through the overwhelming votes on March 18, 2024 is divine as the Lord God Almighty stood by you all through the treacheries, manipulations and machinations of your opponents, declared and showcased you as His choice to be the Governor of Delta State.
“Congratulations, Your Excellency, and I wish you God’s continued presence and guidance as you finally settle down to deliver on your M.O.R.E. Agenda to the good people of Delta State.
