Stephen Keshi Stadium toilet walls, ambiance cleaned, wear fresh paints

Some work efforts have begun to change for the better the unsanitary condition of the walls of the toilet facility in the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba as the surrounding has now been cleaned up, banneronlinenews can now report.

It is commendable that the work came in response to the online newspaper’s report of Wednesday, August 20, 2025 in which  attention was called to the untidy situation of the portion of the stadium situated at the base of the complex opposite the Press Centre.

A visit to the portion of the stadium Friday, August 22, 2025, showed a surrounding that is wearing a new look, adorned with sky blue paints that gives the atmosphere a fresh look. Now the dingy situation, unkempt and stinking atmosphere has been taken care of and now without that previous unpleasant smell.

Banneronlinenews reports that the state of the interior of the toilet that has the bowls could not be ascertained as the door to the entrance was firmly locked making access impossible.

However, although the surrounding has now been swept clean, but some opening could be observed on the roof showing that some ceiling compartments have fallen off and the gaping portions of the ceiling need to be quickly fixed to restore its beauty and give the place the look that actually befits a world class stadium.

A walk to other places and buildings in the stadium complex points to the need for maintenance and cleaning personnel to be put in place to regularly keep the facility tidy and in good shape. Going round some of the building facilities showed that the interiors need to be regularly swept and cleaned up and waste baskets placed strategically close for users of the stadium to easily dump generated wastes in them instead of getting them littered all over.  Also, it was observed that the floors of buildings in the sports complex have been taken over by cob webs and the windows horribly dusty.
