Tinubu departs for Europe ahead of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday, December 28, 2025 departed Lagos for Europe as he continues his end-of-year break, ahead of an official trip to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

According to a statement from the Presidency, President Tinubu will attend the 2026 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) Summit at the invitation of the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The week-long summit, scheduled for early January, brings together global leaders from government, business and civil society to discuss the future of sustainable development.

This year’s theme, “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” is expected to focus on innovation, finance and people-centered solutions, highlighting practical pathways for countries to move forward with confidence in tackling climate and development challenges.

The Presidency added that President Tinubu will return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.

The statement was signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, and dated December 28, 2025.
