With the resumed Delta North’s Senatorial Ward campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday, Nigerians have been told not to see the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Alhaji Bola Tinubu’s prayer of “God bless PDP” as lapsus lingua (a slip of tongue) but a proclamation, an emphatic public statement, and confirmation by one who knows and is convinced about the truth of the ability and capability of the PDP as the only party that can truly unify Nigerians, rescue and reset the country.
Delta North Chairman of the PDP, Elder Moses Iduh and Minority Leader of House of Representatives, and PDP Aniocha-Oshimili Federal Constituency candidate, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu spoke at different times when the Ward campaign train taxied at Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area.
At Ward 4, Iduh said: “Did you not watch Tinubu on television say “God bless PDP?’ When he made the prayer God heard him and approved of his prayer. Tinubu also said that Omo-Agege will be Governor of Niger Delta State.”
The PDP Delta North Chairman said that Tinubu knew what he was saying, as the statement is not by one who is sick. “The man that people think is sick. No, he is not sick, Asiwaju saw tomorrow. He prayed for the tomorrow that he saw to happen come 2023, so that when Atiku becomes President he will go to him after all I prayed that you should win. So, people should not think that Tinubu is sick, he knows what he is doing.”
He also recalled that Tinubu told the Governorship candidate of APC, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege that he will be Governor of Niger Delta State, meaning that the PDP Delta Governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has no opposition as the Governorship position for him is a foregone conclusion. The implication is that Omo-Agege will become Governor only when a Niger Delta State is created, thereby leaving Oborevwori to clinch the Governorship of Delta State without opposition.
Speaking in a similar manner, Hon. Elumelu said: “Tinubu has already blessed PDP. He also delivered Sheriff as Governor of Delta State when he told Omo-Agege that he will be Governor of Niger Delta State. So, Sheriff has no problem becoming Governor of Delta State, he has no opposition. Omo-Agege has been told to become Governor of Niger Delta State when the State is created.
A total of five Wards were visited in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area, and they included Ward 4, at Umueze Ogboli Village Square, Ogboli; Ward 8, at Ogbamgba Square, Umuedem Umueze; Ward 7, at Open Space by Ogwa Okponta; Ward 5, at Ogbowele and Ward 6 at Umuodafe.
At Ward 4, the candidates of the party were each introduced to the audience by the Delta North Chairman, Moses Iduh, and the candidates included Rt. Hon. Ned Nwoko for Senate, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu for House of Representatives, the Governorship ticket of Sheriff Oborevwori/Monday Onyeme; the ticket was represented by Sir Monday Onyeme, and the House of Assembly candidate, Barr. Frank Esenwa.
The campaign train told the people why they must vote for PDP candidates to remove APC from Government because nothing good has come out of the party.
The Local Government Campaign Co-ordinator, and Secretary to the State Government, Ogbueshi Patrick Ukah told the people in each of the Wards that the campaign train was, that we are not in Ibusa Wards to campaign since the Wards are all PDP, and being the Wards of notable chieftains of PDP including, Chief Fred Ajudua, his wife, Hon. Pat. Ajudua, the Hon. Commissioner for lands, Barr. Kate Onianwa, Hon. Innocent Esewezie, the Local Government Chairman, Dr. Obidi and many others. Ukah, therefore pleaded with the people who turned out en-masse at each Ward that became carnivals of sorts.
In attendance at the Ward campaigns were Dame Nkem Okwuofu, High Chief Godswill Obielum, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, PDP State Publicity Secretary, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, Rt. Hon. Martin Okonta, Deputy Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ochor Christopher Ochor; Director of Protocol, Hon. Ifeanyi Eboigbe and many others.
