The Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor has charged all the councilors in the 25 local government areas of Delta State to mobilize their people towards Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s return to Government House come 2019.
Chief Uzor gave the charge when the Delta Councilors Coalition for Okowa’s Re-election [DECCOR] paid him a courtesy visit in his office at Asaba.
He noted that Okowa’s pedigree as a councilor, commissioner, Secretary to the State Government [SSG], Senator and sitting governor has exposed him to have sufficient knowledge of administration that the state needed to move to an enviable height by other states not only in Nigeria but across the globe.
While saying that Governor Okowa has kept his campaign promises as encapsulated in the SMART Agenda, Uzor described him as a man of his word who has being tested and trusted, stressing that his works across the state speak extensively of his plan to bring prosperity to all Deltans.
The Special Adviser commended the Delta Councilors Coalition for Okowa’s Reelection (DECCOR) for being solidly behind the Governor and for evolving a working plan that would return Okowa as Governor. .
He advised them not to betray their trust in Okowa , warning that they should not listen to gossip.
Uzor who assured them that Okowa would come back, enjoined them to accommodate everybody in various community for good in order to achieve the collective effort of ensuring Governor Okowa’s reelection.
Earlier the Director General of Delta Coalition for Okowa reelection Hon. Victor Ofoboukuta told Chief Uzor that they were in his office to inform him of their support for Okowa, Pointing out that the councilors decided to support him because he had kept his promises to Deltans.
While soliciting for Chief Uzor support Hon. Ofobouta explained that Delta Coalition for Okowa Reelection,[ DECCOR] has a simple formula that would be implemented and would deliver Okowa’s second term mandate.
Meanwhile, the Delta State Councilors Coalition for Okowa Re-election (DECCOR) has vowed to ensure the re-election of Governor Okowa in the forthcoming general elections.
Affirming this at the meeting of the coalition in Warri North Local Government Council Secretariat, Koko, the Director General of the coalition and leader of Ethiope East Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Victor Ofobrukueta, said that the coalition’s aim was to sustain the mandate of the governor by going round the 25 local government areas in the state and mobilizing eligible voters.
Responding, their host and leader of Warri North Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Jolomi Esiategiwa, assured the coalition and leaders of the various legislative arms of his constituent’s contribution to the course.
He emphasized the need for councillors to go to their wards for proper analysis of eligible voters, noting that all hands must be on deck to ensure sustainability of the present administration.
