The Senior Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon has expressed excitement at one of the objectives of the Delta Grassroots Motivation Forum, which is to create awareness, sensitise and inform the people at the grassroots of the good deeds of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration in Delta State.
Solomon who received the group led by Mr. Richard Anonye in audience in the conference hall of his office, commended them for the initiative to appreciate the doings of Governor Okowa, especially the objective of getting the grassroots people to know of the laudable thing that Governor Okowa is doing.
Urging the group to grow from strength to strength, he advised that they should spread their membership across the state as a Delta grassroots movement for the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), he said: “I appreciate the quality of your membership, and you should begin to build your structures, strengthen them, and widen them to cover the entire Delta State as a mobilization group.”
Rt. Hon. Solomon said the group could do more for the governor and PDP in advocacy, even as he called on them to get to understand the Stronger Delta agenda of Governor Okowa so they can get the people at the grassroots to appreciate the governor’s vision of a united Delta State without discrimination; a vision of leaving a durable structure in place that others after him will build on and not allow to fade away; a Delta of peace and peaceful coexistence even in diversity.
“You have to participate fully in your ward congresses so as to be sure of the persons in the wards,” he said.
Earlier in his address, Mr. Anonye, president of the group told the Senior Political Adviser that the group is a socio-political body, founded about five years ago and registered with the corporate Affairs Commission, pointing out that all the members are PDP loyalists.
“Governor Okowa is doing very well so far, but many people in the wards and the grassroots are aware of what he is doing. We have taken it as our duty to go to the wards and the grassrootsto inform the people about the things the governor is doing,” Anonye said.
