2019 polls: Elumelu returns to Green Chambers in style, hands crushing defeat to opponent

The return of the Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu to the Federal House of Representatives was confirmed when the Returning Officer for the election, Dr. Ignatious Ezoem, declared him the winner of the Aniocha-Oshimili Federal Constituency elections held on Saturday, February 23, 2019.
The result of the elections shows Elumelu and the PDP in an uncompromising and crushing defeat of the opposition in the contest.
With the formal declaration as the winner of the elections, Elumelu, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the elections is now home and dry as his return to the Green Chambers that he left a while ago is now signed, sealed and delivered.
Dr. Ezoem, who is also the provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, announced the result late Sunday night at the end of the collation at the Oshimili South Local Government of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Dr. Ezoem declared that the PDP polled a total of 84,615 votes in the four local government areas of the Aniocha- North, Aniocha South, Oshimili North and Oshimili South that make up the Anioch-Oshimili Federal Constituency, to defect the All Progressives Candidate (APC) that had a total of 11,086 votes.
Thus, Elumelu defeated his main opponent and candidate of the opposition APC with an overwhelming but unprecedented difference of 73, 529 votes.
