Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, Delta’s Senior Political Adviser.
The Senior Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta State Rt Hon Funkekeme Solomon has called on the Interim National Management Committee, INMC, of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), to be proactive and contribute positively towards the developmental programmes and policies of government.
Rt Hon Solomon made the call recently when a delegation of the INMC, led by its National Chairman, Chief Ezenwa Leonard paid him a courtesy visit in Asaba.
The senior political adviser congratulated members of the Interim State Management Committee (ISMC), for their successful inauguration, pointing out that their induction would ensure continuation of the smooth running of political parties.
He said that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa runs an all-inclusive administration, adding that the governor had provided opportunities for other existing political parties in the state to contribute their quota to good governance by appointing some of their members into positions of responsibility in the government.
Earlier, the Chairman of INMC of the IPAC, Chief Ezenwa Leonard applauded the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the peaceful coexistence of other political parties in the state which led to a successful inauguration of the INMC.
Chief Leonard, who was accompanied by the Secretary, Alhaji Yusuf Dantelle and the Publicity Secretary, Major Gilbert Agbo, said with the IMC in place, the foundation for a new political order in Nigeria had been created, geared towards the overall development of the country irrespective of the political party in power.
The inductees include – Hon. Afamefune Enemokwu of APGA- Chairman; Prince Henry Eze (JP) of APM- Secretary; Emmanuel America of NRM- Treasurer; Comr. Emeka Bidokwu of AA- Organizing/Welfare Secretary; Michael Egboh of ADP- Publicity Secretary; Prince Joe Chukwu of ADC- Financial Secretary; and Uche Mordi of APP as Youth Policy Advisor.
It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, recently de-registered 74 political parties across the nation leaving only 18 registered ones, a development which saw some exco members whose party were de-registered losing their support base both at the state and the national levels. This gave rise to the setting up of the Interim Management Committee to oversee the activities of the body.
