The Secretary to the Delta state Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu has described the Asaba Waterfront City Project as a landmark project aimed to change the face of the real estate sector in the state’s capital territory and at the same time give the urban renewal and tourism efforts of the state government a boost.
Dr. Emu made this known at the maiden/introductory meeting with the Special Projects Director of the Asaba Waterfront City, Barr. Victor Ebonka, Government Supervising Ministries, Departments and Agencies and contractors handling the Project in his office in Asaba.

He noted that the Asaba Waterfront City would be the greatest piece of real estate in the South South region of the country, which would drive up the value of real estate in the State. He noted that the well over 350 hectares of land being recovered could have easily been a haven for hoodlums, even as he warned that the government would not tolerate any urban slum within the capital territory.
While charging the contractors on collaboration, Emu said that the Asaba Waterfront City is a project dear to the heart of Governor Oborevwori, and hence the perfection of the project is paramount. He noted that collaboration between every party involved in the multibillion-naira project would see to its prompt completion as infrastructural development is always better and faster when knowledge is shared.
The meeting had in attendance the Managing Director of the North China Construction Nigeria Limited, Dr. Osadebe Osakwe; Vice Chairman of 4Clans Construction Company, Chief Theodore Omalu; Surveyor – General of the State, Surv. Alex Eboka; General Manager, Delta State Urban and Regional Planning Board, Mr. Peter Amaduobogha; Director, Town Planning, Victor Fitzgerald; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works represented by Engr. Owen Mordi, amongst others.
