Residents hail Oborevwori as DSC Flyover eases traffic, boosts business

Residents, commuters and business operators around the DSC Roundabout axis of Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, have applauded Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, following the opening of the newly constructed DSC Roundabout flyover to vehicular traffic.

The project, executed by the Oborevwori administration and built by Julius Berger is being applauded as a major boost for traffic flow, commerce and the general outlook of Effurun, Warri and neighbouring communities.

An opinion survey along the project corridor showed widespread agreement that the series of flyovers at DSC Roundabout, PTI Junction, Effurun Roundabout and Enerhen Junction have brought long-awaited relief to an area once notorious for gridlock, decaying roads and slowed economic activity.

Many respondents described the intervention as timely and transformational, pointing to smoother movement, safer roads, thriving businesses and a cleaner environment.

Mr. Shuaibu Aduku, who has lived in the Nehemiah area for nearly two decades, recalled the difficulties residents faced before construction began.

“Before, movement was terrible. You could spend hours here,” he said. “Now transportation is faster, business is faster, and life is easier. I give the governor 100 per cent kudos.”

Another resident, Mr. Abednego Osia, said the difference is “clear for everyone to see.”

“This road was very bad before. Since Governor Oborevwori came in, things have changed. Movement from this roundabout to other parts of town is now free,” he added.

For Mrs. Vincent Miracle, the project has improved both the community and its social activities.

“The road has beautified the environment and made everywhere more organised,” she said, praying for more strength for the governor “to do even more for the people.”

Business operators also say the impact is tangible. Mr. Akpobofene Akatuba, who has worked around the DSC–PTI axis for 14 years, said economic activity has bounced back.

“Before, it was constant gridlock and frustration. Today, bigger jobs are coming and customers are returning. This place has completely changed,” he said.

Residents noted that while there is still work to be done, the flyover stands as proof of purposeful leadership and people-centred governance. They urged the governor to sustain the pace and continue opening up more job opportunities across the state.

They emphasized that the DSC Roundabout flyover has become a symbol of strategic urban renewal and the administration’s commitment to easing daily hardship while stimulating economic growth across Delta State.
