A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ika North-East Local Government Area, Prince David Ebele Iyeke, has called on party leaders and stakeholders to respect constituted authority and embrace dialogue as the party prepares for its upcoming congresses.
Iyeke, a real estate entrepreneur popularly known as “Circle,” made the appeal through the One For All Media Office, stressing that the congresses must lay a credible and trusted foundation for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
According to him, party congresses are critical moments that determine stability, unity, and direction, especially within the peculiar political landscape of Delta APC.
“The congresses are here, and it is important for all leaders and stakeholders to understand that party hierarchy must be respected. That is the only way we can approach 2027 as a stable and united front,” Iyeke stated.
He urged members to emulate leaders such as Evangelist Moses Kamanya, whom he described as consistent in preaching stability and continuity within the party.
Iyeke emphasized that the success of the 2027 general elections would largely depend on the integrity of party structures at the grassroots level.
“A lot of importance is attached to this congress, particularly as it concerns the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The first point of mobilisation for the President’s reelection is the party itself. That makes it imperative for sincere and tested leaders to emerge at the ward and local government levels,” he said.
The CEO of Shining Light Real Estate Company, who hails from Igbodo community, commended President Tinubu’s administration, citing key policy decisions which he said have repositioned the nation’s economic trajectory.
He specifically highlighted the removal of petroleum subsidy, describing it as a bold move long advocated by technocrats but avoided by previous administrations. He also praised the introduction of the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), saying it has created new educational opportunities for young Nigerians whose families struggle with tertiary tuition costs.
Iyeke further referenced the approval of a new minimum wage and the push for financial autonomy for local government areas as additional reforms that justify support for the President’s second-term bid.
“For the sake of emphasis, the call to support President Tinubu is not about sycophancy. It is based on clear and traceable impacts of his administration,” he said.
He concluded by reiterating that the APC must ensure credible leadership emerges from the congresses to guarantee effective mobilisation and victory for the President and other party candidates when the time comes.
