ABUJA – May 29, 2026 – The leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has distanced itself from unofficial endorsement lists currently being circulated across several states, particularly in the South East, warning the public to disregard them entirely.
In a press statement issued on Friday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director Esq., said the purported lists do not represent the NDC’s position and contain names that do not match the official record of aspirants who purchased Expression of Interest Forms.
“The national leadership of the NDC is not aware of any such endorsement lists, nor has any list been authorised or approved by the party leadership,” the statement read.
The party directed all NDC State Executive Committees, members, and stakeholders to treat the documents as unofficial. It reaffirmed that all aspirants who duly purchased forms and passed the screening process will be allowed to participate in primaries, whether through consensus or direct primary elections in line with the party’s constitution.
“The NDC leadership reiterates its commitment to transparency, fairness, and due process throughout the party’s internal electoral process,” the statement added.
