I cannot sit on the fence on this Sheriff vs Omo-Agege matter. I watched both recent interviews, and the difference is clear as day.
First off, Oborevwori is all about the party politics—trying to impress his APC household. That’s on the nature of politicians. However, he failed to manage the part that bothers on the concerns of the people, Urhobos and Deltans in general.
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege spoke with depth, vision, and respect for the people (Urhobos). Governor Sheriff Oborevwori? His responses exposed serious flaws.
Particularly troubling was when he declared that President Tinubu is “our in-law” and that it would be “evil” for Deltans not to vote for him in 2027.
Imagine reducing the future of Delta State — our people, our resources, our economy, our children’s tomorrow — to “family affair” (that does not even exist) and emotional blackmail. Is governance now about in-law politics? Are Deltans expected to ignore hardship, rising costs, insecurity, and unfulfilled promises simply because of “marital ties” to the First Lady?
This is not leadership. This is desperation dressed in tribal sentiment. Urhobos, and indeed all Deltans, deserve better than being guilt-tripped into voting against our own interests.
We vote for performance, not “in-law” obligations. We vote for accountability, not family pacts.
Omo-Agege has consistently shown over the years he understands the struggles of our people. And that can be seen obviously. Sheriff’s interview only confirmed why many are looking elsewhere. Delta deserves leaders who put Deltans first — not those playing family politics with our destiny.
