WARRI, Nigeria – The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, has hailed its immediate past Chairman, Mr. Victor Okpomor, as a “visionary leader” and “steadfast pillar” of the media profession as he marks another birthday.
In a statement jointly signed by Chapel Chairman Okakuro Akpokona Omafuaire and Secretary Edeki Igafe, the body extended warm felicitations to Okpomor, thanking God for granting him “another fulfilled year.” The chapel reflected on the strong bonds of Delta State’s media community and prayed for his continued health, peace, and societal impact.
Describing Okpomor as a bridge-builder and institutional reformer, the union noted that his administrative blueprint “continues to resonate and guide the chapel toward greater unity, professional dignity, and societal relevance.” They lauded his “uncommon sacrifices” and unwavering commitment to advancing journalism in the state.
The statement recalled that during his tenure, Okpomor steered the chapel with integrity and resourcefulness, fostering key partnerships with security agencies and industry players that elevated the chapel’s institutional standing. “Your leadership style left an indelible blueprint for media unity and development,” the chapel added.
The NUJ prayed for Okpomor’s continued divine wisdom, favor, and long life, wishing that his “coast continues to expand” with deeper joy and professional fulfillment in the years ahead.
