Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has marked the fifth anniversary of the coronation of the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, with a tribute that paints the monarch as a peace-loving, visionary ruler whose reign has strengthened harmony and driven development across Warri Kingdom.
In a congratulatory message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Oborevwori described Atuwatse III as “a man of peace, a bridge-builder and a person of profound integrity,” whose leadership has inspired confidence and positive change among his subjects.
The governor said the Olu’s five years on the throne have been distinguished by responsible traditional leadership, dedication to the welfare of his people, and a firm commitment to preserving the customs and traditions of the Itsekiri nation.
Oborevwori highlighted how the monarch has balanced cultural preservation with peaceful coexistence, promoting socio-cultural cooperation and harmonious relationships between the Itsekiri and other ethnic nationalities in Delta State. In the governor’s view, this approach has contributed immensely to stability and development in the state, reinforcing Warri Kingdom’s role as a cornerstone of peace in the region.
Alongside the commendation, the governor urged the people of Warri Kingdom to continue supporting the Olu and to remain patient as he pursues his vision for a more united, peaceful, and prosperous Iwere nation.
Oborevwori concluded by praying that God grants Atuwatse III sound health, wisdom, and strength to provide purposeful traditional and cultural leadership for his people in the years ahead.
