NDC chieftain faults pressure groups over ‘Divided Loyalties’, urges 5/5 vote for party in Delta

Hon. Udoka Aaron Ebenuwa, Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Delta North Senatorial District, has criticised pressure groups that support a presidential candidate of one political party while campaigning for candidates of another party, describing the arrangement as contradictory and potentially unsustainable.

Ebenuwa, in a press statement issued in Asaba on Sunday, October 18, 2026, argued that such political alliances raised questions about loyalty, ideological consistency and the purpose of the groups involved.

He said a movement seeking lasting political success must be built on clearly defined principles, a common political direction and a consistent strategy.

According to him, political groups cannot achieve unity and progress when their members pursue conflicting interests under competing party platforms.

“How can a pressure group build a united political movement when its members pursue conflicting political interests under competing party platforms?” he asked.

The NDC chieftain maintained that political convenience and divided loyalties could undermine collective objectives, stressing that members of a movement must share a common vision and demonstrate mutual commitment.

“You cannot build a durable political alliance on divided loyalties, conflicting interests, and political convenience while expecting it to deliver lasting unity, progress, and political success,” he said.

He urged pressure groups seeking to establish credible and sustainable progressive movements to define their political identities clearly and remain consistent with their stated objectives.

Ebenuwa said political actors could not claim to be pursuing a common cause while simultaneously working towards opposing political interests.

Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, he called on supporters of the party to unite behind the NDC and its candidates in Delta State.

He urged voters to support the party across all five elective positions being contested, promoting the slogan, “Vote NDC Candidates 5/5,” as part of what he described as an effort to build a united and progressive Delta State.

The statement ended with the party’s motto, “NDC — Service to the People.”
