The combined three-week orientation course exercise for Edo, Delta and Bayelsa States 2018 Batch B stream II corps members was rounded off yesterday Monday, 18/9/2018 at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government.
The Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa who was represented by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Mr Jude Sinebe, while declaring the exercise closed reminded the corps members that as the nation was preparing for 2019 general elections they should see themselves as veritable tools for the smooth conduct of the Election.
He charged the corps members to be guided by the oath of service by being diligent, discipline and dedicated to this critical national programme.
Dr. Okowa assured the corps members that Deltans were peace loving, hospitable and were ready to receive them in their various communities.
He however enjoined the corps members to embark on projects that would impact positively on the lives of the host communities.
The governor maintained that all local government chairmen, traditional rulers and security agencies should be mindful that their environment remain peaceful and safe for the corps members throughout the service year.
Earlier in a welcome address, the State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Ayodele Omotade, said that the corps members were fully equipped and ready for their primary assignment, saying that they had exhibited true discipline and loyalty with every sense of dedication.
While thanking Governor Okowa for his continued support to the state NYSC, he urged the corps members to carry the message learnt from the orientation camp to their host communities.
