ABUJA – The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has ordered all newly elected state executives to wait until May 12, 2026, to assume office, warning them against any action that could create confusion within the party.
In a statement by National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC clarified that existing executives remain the duly recognised officers until the formal inauguration of new officials next year.
“All newly elected executives, particularly at the state level, are advised… to desist from any action, representation, or conduct that may contravene this clear constitutional directive,” Abdullahi said.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to discipline and strict adherence to its constitution.
