Angst, discontent, disenchantment rule in Delta APC

State party exco receives knock for lethargic, uninspiring leadership

An air of discontent and uncertainty about the future currently pervades among the rank and file of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State with members expressing disenchantment against the lethargy of the party leadership in the State, accusing the Chairman, Mr. Jones Erue of exhibiting the worst form of leadership that has kept the party comatose in the state.

They expressed anger and dissatisfaction against the state of physical slowness and mental dullness that has become the hallmark of the Jones Erue leadership of the APC in the State, which the alleged has caused the party to display lack of energy, activity and enthusiasm with members now confused about what to make of the party.

Those who spoke to Banner Online News.com on condition of anonymity called attention to the State Secretariat on Nnebisi Road, Asaba that has for the most part been deserted and desolate. There is no single furniture in that office, save for three plastic chairs. When Banneronlinenews.com visited the office, three persons who looked like cleaners were met and when asked to see the State chairman or any member of the State party executive, they said they the officials were never in the office and that the chairman does not even stay in Asaba and has never operated from the office.

The members alleged that the Erue-led executive of the party does not have the interest of the party at heart as it has never done anything in the state to indicate that APC exists in the State. That the only presence of the APC in Delta is a place designated as party secretariat and which has a large bill board with the inscription: “O’Tega Emerhor for Governor in 2015.” But they pointed out that the place is dead as there is no activity going on their.

They also alleged that the party executive collects N10 million monthly from a certain minister, purportedly to run the party affairs in the state, yet no visible activity of the party is seen to bring up the party in the State.

The party faithful who visibly feel pained at the disappointing turn of events in the Delta state chapter of APC expressed unhappiness and decried the inefficiency of the party leadership in the state.

“We hold Jones Erue responsible for the APC misfortune in Delta State, and for selling the party to the Peoples Democratic Party-led government in the state,” the party faithful said.

Contacted in a text message with the allegations and asked to state his own side of the story, Mr. Jones who later spoke with Banneronlinenews.com on phone, and in an angry tone said among other things: “Is the PDP exco always in their secretariat? Who told you that we collect N10 million monthly for the party?”

Banneronlinenews.com told him it is the allegation made against him and his party executive, and that is the reason he is being given an opportunity to react to the allegations and say what he knows about it.

Instead, he rained invectives on the Reporter and damned him.

Meanwhile, because of the absence of a focused and enthusiastic APC leadership Delta state, exasperated party supporters are confused and have a feeling that the stagnant nature of the party does not mean well for them to continue to stay on.

For instance, one of the disenchanted faithful called attention to the fact that since Chief Great Ogboru, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei , Senator Ovie Omo-Agege crossed over to the party, nothing has been done to formally receive them into the party by the Jones Erue leadership of APC in the state.
