ASABA – Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended warm congratulations to Dame Edith Okowa, wife of former Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, on her 65th birthday, praising her as a compassionate humanitarian whose work has transformed countless lives.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori lauded the former First Lady’s dedication to service, describing her as a devoted mother and a woman whose positive impact stretches across Delta State and beyond.
The Governor specifically highlighted her flagship 05 Initiative Foundation, through which she championed healthcare interventions and empowerment programmes. He noted her exceptional commitment to persons living with sickle cell disorder, including the establishment of sickle cell clinics in hospitals across the state, as well as providing healthcare support and livelihood opportunities to vulnerable groups.
Oborevwori said Dame Okowa’s dedication to the welfare of the less privileged had earned her widespread admiration and respect, adding that her contributions remain enduring legacies that would continue to benefit society.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I heartily congratulate Her Excellency, Dame Edith Okowa, as she marks her 65th birthday. May the Almighty continue to bless her with good health, long life, and renewed strength to continue her selfless service to humanity,” the Governor stated.
He wished the former First Lady many more years of fulfilment, happiness, and impactful service, while thanking her for her invaluable contributions to the development and wellbeing of the people of Delta State.
