Delta Line: DTSG to pay salary backlog, as God is Good mgt. finally takes charge of operations

Cheering news came the way of staff of Delta Line Company when the Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Vincent Uduaghan announced that the state government’s decision to pay the inherited four (4) months backlog of salaries in 2015, as well as clear all salaries from February – May, 2018.
Mr Uduaghan gave the assurance at a meeting he had with his Finance counterpart, Chief David Edevbie, the Permanent Secretary in the Directorate of Transport, Mr Edwin Abraka, management of God Is Good Motors, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Transport, Comrade Charles Uwajeh and the workers’ union leadership.
The Transport Commissioner also said that Government would not compromise on agreement reached with the new investors of Delta Line Company, saying all necessary support would be provided by the relevant organs of Government.
Uduaghan, who in the course of the meeting visited the Accounts Department as well as the Mechanic Workshop of Delta Line, told the workers to be dedicated to their duties and cooperate with the new operators in order to achieve the best for the company and themselves.
On severance allowance and payment of outstanding salaries, the Commissioner for Finance, Chief David Edevbie, disclosed that those that may be affected by administrative changes would duly be paid their entitlements.
He warned that a proper financial audit would be carried out concerning the finances of the outgoing administration, stressing that anyone found culpable would be sanctioned.
The SSA to the Governor, Comrade Charles Uwajeh, who was in charge of Delta Line before now, introduced the new investor (God is Good Motors) round the various departments, as well as the loading bays at Koka Junction and the one opposite Grand Hotel, Asaba.
Earlier, the Investors affirmed that they were already on ground to understudy as well as make enquiries in order to acclimatize, saying they were in a familiar business environment.
Good is Good Motors, the new management of Delta Line Company official took charge of running the company June 1, 2018.
