Delta Police Command now to enforce ban on Keke operations in Asaba after 10 p.m.

 

The operation of tricycles, aka kaka Napep after 10 p.m. in Asaba, the Delta state capital has been banned.

Announcing the ban, the Delta State Police Command in a statement by its Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Chuks Orisewezie stated that the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adeyinka Adeleke has reiterated the government ban on all tricycles in Asaba and environs not to operate beyond 10 p.m.

The command said the decision became necessary because of the prevailing security situation in the State, and a commitment to serve the people of the State well and reduce crime to the barest minimum.

According to the statement, “officers of the Command on patrol duties have been given a matching order to arrest and impound any tricycle aka keke napep operator found operating within the streets of Asaba metropolis and its environs after 2200hrs (10pm).”

It pointed out that the “Commissioner of Police solicits your understanding in this regards while assuring Deltans and the general public of his commitment to their safety and security at all times.”
