Delta won’t vote a mace thief for governor, says Esiso; leads PDP faithful at Warri South, Uvwie LG barnstorms in chants of ‘God forbid’

Delta Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP,) Olorogun Kingsley Esiso was strident in making his point about who the peoples of the State will not need as governor in 2023.

On Thursday, December 22, 2022,  day two of the party’s local government campaign train coming to Warri Township Stadium, Warri South Local Government and Uvwie Local Government Area, Esiso, at different times led the congregations in a voice vote saying: “Delta will not vote for a mace thief as governor. God forbid.” And the audience, which came in their mammoth numbers chanted in their response in acknowledgement saying: “God forbid, God forbid, God forbid.”

He said instead, Deltans have decided by consensus to vote for vote for one who believes in togetherness and oneness, a man with pan-Delta characteristics.

Esiso called on the people to end the suffering that APC Federal Government has brought to Nigeria by voting it out at the elections. He said: “The mammoth turnout of people at the Campaign is pointer to the fact that the people are tired of bad governance, insecurity, and killings, and are ready to chase APC away from Aso Rock by voting massively for Atiku-Okowa presidential ticket.

Just like the Director of Campaigns, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, Esiso commended the PDP supporters of both local governments for their huge turn out to welcome the campaign train, pointing out that it showed that Warri South and Uvwie Local Governments are PDP territories.

The various leaders in both local governments confirmed that they and their people belong to PDP and assured that they will vote for all the party’s candidates from the presidential ticket all through to the governorship, senate, House of Representatives and then House of Assembly candidates.

In Warri South, the leaders said: “Warri South is for PDP; we are the permanent landlord of Warri South. With what we have on ground in Warri South the local government is ready to vote PDP all the way in 2023.

Dr Israel Ubido said: “PDP is the party to beat; it is the party that is producing the vice presidential candidate of PDP,” and assured that the people will vote PDP all the way.

Another leader and Chieftain, Dr. Otumara urged the people to express their faithfulness to PDP by voting massively for the party’s candidate, while Barr. Val Arenyinka, Deputy Chairman of PDP assured that Warri South is fully Atikulated and Sherified.

A cross section of the mammoth crowd at the Warri South PDP local Government campaign rally held in the Warri Township Stadium.

It was the former governor of Delta and Delta Central Campaign Co-ordinator, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan who called the attention of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and vice presidential candidate of PDP to the needed repair work for Warri Stadium, to which the governor said it would be done before his administration ends in May 2023.

At Uvwie, Dr. Uduaghna to the people that Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the PDP governorship candidate is “our son, and we shall support him by voting for him to become governor.”

However, Oborevwori, who hails from Uvwie Local Government, told the people that Uvwie does not need to be campaigned to much because and that having a governorship candidate is to their advantage, having never produced a governor or deputy governor in the past.

“Uvwie Federal Constituency has never produced a governor and deputy governor. The person who made it possible for it to produce a governorship candidate is Governor Ifeanyi Okowa,” he said, and asked: “What will you do for him in return for the good gesture? What to do for him in return is to vote for Atiku Abubakar as president so that Governor Okowa will become vice president.”
