DSCTDA partners COMTOA to keep Asaba Secure, Clean and Green

In a bid to ensure a Secure, Clean and Green environment, the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency has entered into an agreement for collaboration with the Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators Association, COMTOA, with a view to enforcing compliance of environmental laws, curbing insecurity and indiscriminate parking among keke and okada riders within the capital territory

The Director-General of the agency, Chief Patrick Ukah, revealed this on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in an interactive meeting with the Chairman and members of the Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators Association, COMTOA, in his office in Asaba.

Chief Ukah said: “You may recall that the agency had taken a sensitization and awareness campaign to the traditional rulers, the streets, markets and other stakeholders in the state on the need to adhere strictly to the state environmental laws or face the full wrath of the law.”

He charged members of the association to be proactive and discharge their duties in accordance with the rules and regulations as entrenched in the environmental laws of the state and to ensure that the capital territory is Secure, Clean and Green as they go out to perform their duties.

Earlier, Chief Obi Nzete, the Chairman of COMTOA, affirmed the association’s readiness to collaborate with DSCTDA in implementing strategic commitments to curb Indiscriminate parking and dumping of refuse, insecurity, and to reposition keke and okada riders within the capital territory.
