A former speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olise Imegwu, has told the youth of Ndokwa East not to allow hoodlums hijack the end SARS protest.

He stated this yesterday at Kwale as Ndokwa East youths defy the flood situation to join their Ndokwa West counterpart for the end SARS protest.

Imegwu said that their demand was genuine but urged the youths to embrace dialogue with the government.

He frowned at a situation where hoodlums would go to the correctional centers to set inmates free and burning of police stations and carting away arms, advising that said they should get it right this time.

Our correspondent reported that youths came out in their numbers from Ashaka despite the flood to join the peaceful protest at Kwale.

It was observed that the express by Technical College, Kwale was barricaded with chairs and canopies, making it difficult for vehicles to pass.

Also, at Ogume Junction, the road was barricaded as the youths sang songs of liberation from the now disbanded Speacial Anti Robery Squard (SARS) and bad governance.

They held placards with inscription: “say no to bad governance”, “SARS must go”, “save our future” and “enough is enough”.

One of the youths, who did not mention his name, said that the protest was meant to address the long neglect by the government on salient issues concerning the present and future of the youth.
