Erue APC faction is authentic party leadership in Delta State, says Nick Ovuakporie

The factional differences in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta state has continued to remain intractable with confusion over which of the factions is the authentic faction recognized by the national office of the party.

Indication to this effect came in a statement by one Nick Ovuakporie,Director Communications, APC Delta State who signed a statement to the effect that Prohet Jones Erue is the authentic chairman of the APC in Delta State.

He stated: : Prophet Jones Ode Erue who is the substantive and authentic State Chairman of the Party duly recognised by the National leadership of the Party by virtue of the judgement of the Federal High Court, Abuja, described the report as the work of desperate individuals who will stop at nothing to destroy the fortunes of the Party in the State.”

The full statement entitled ” Delta State APC Condemns Purported Report Commending Ngige For Appointing Kokori” reads:

The Delta State All Progressives Congress (APC) under the authentic leadership of Prophet Jones Ode Erue, has reacted to the purported report presently making the rounds in some social media outlets commending the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige for the appointments of Chief Frank Kokori and Mr. Austin Enajemo-Isire.

Prophet Jones Ode Erue who is the substantive and authentic State Chairman of the Party duly recognised by the National leadership of the Party by virtue of the judgement of the Federal High Court, Abuja, described the report as the work of desperate individuals who will stop at nothing to destroy the fortunes of the Party in the State.

While distancing the Party from the purported commendation, Erue stated categorically that the State Chapter of the Party is firmly behind the appointment of Chief Frank Kokori as the Chairman of the board of NSITF by President Muhammadu Buhari and totally condemned the attempt of the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige to substitute the person of Kokori with Mr. Austin Enajemo-Isire as a slap on the efforts of Mr. President at fighting corruption.

Erue, further lampoons the report and described Ngige as an embarrassment to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and his anti corruption crusade, wondering why the Minister of Labour and Productivity wilfully disobeyed the directive of the President who appointed Chief Frank Kokori over a year ago.

In the statement signed by the State Director Communication, Mr. Nick Ovuakporie, Erue commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Chief Frank Kokori, whom he described as an epitome of integrity and the moral compass of nation, that fought for the enthronement of the very democracy Nigeria is experiencing today.

He further commended the leadership of the NLC for their efforts and insistence of the appointment of Chief Frank Kokori as Chairman of NSITF, while deploring the refusal of the Minister of Labour and Productivity Dr. Chris Ngige to inaugurate Kokori. He said that he was not surprised by the failure of Ngige to attend the May Day celebration by workers

Erue, insisted that the Party will do everything possible to ensure that Chief Frank Kokori is not deny justice in his struggle to retain his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari and slams the purported commendation of Ngige as despicable and noted that those behind the report are only interested in their selfish gains and were also engaged in serious anti Party activities in the just concluded general elections.

The Chairman further admonished members of the Party to keep faith with President Muhammadu Buhari and the National leadership of the Party in delivering the next level agenda for the generality of Nigerians.

Signed:

Nick Ovuakporie,
