INEC’s polls shift: Be calm, Ndudi Elumelu urges constituents, assures of PDP’s victory

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate for the Federal House of Representatives, Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, for the 2019 general elections, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu has called on the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency to remain calm in the face of the postponement of the General elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Elumelu spoke with journalists today, Saturday, February 16, 2019 from his home town, Onicha-Uku where he has been for the just postponed general elections.

He said that given that the electoral body, ab initio, had enough number of years to prepare for the general elections, it becomes unfortunate and a regrettable development that such an important event in the life of the people had to be shifted at the last minute.

“However, mine is to talk to our people, the very good people of Aniocha/Oshimili and, indeed, the people of Delta State that they should be calm for the fact that Victory for our Party, PDP, is assured. Whether they postpone it till next year, we will still defeat them and return home with the victory.

“I am particular about our people being calm, because, just like our Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, quoted President Jonathan, that becoming President of Nigeria is not worth shedding the blood of any Nigerian, so I believe that our people should be alive to see us represent them in different positions according to their wishes. So, being calm will in no small measure assist us in achieving that goal,” Elumelu stated.

He, therefore, called on them to be steadfast in their prayers for the Presidential Candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and all other candidates that the Party has presented for the 2019 general elections, even as he emphasized that continuous prayers should be offered for the Delta State Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, who he described as a great leader, a humble man with great integrity.

“So what our followers need to also do in their quiet moment is to keep praying for our Governor and his family, for God to keep them in good health, keep Atiku in good health as well as members of his family and all the candidates from the Presidential Candidate up to the House of Assembly, that God in his infinite mercy should keep them intact for victory is assured come next Saturday that they have postponed it to and also March 9,” he said, even as he stated with assurance that the PDP will not lose any seat, especially in Delta State in the general elections.
