Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ochor Christopher Ochor have felicitated with the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Charles Aniagwu, in a statement said Okowa joined the State Assembly, the people of Okpe State Constituency, friends and family of the charismatic Speaker in celebrating the years of his remarkable achievements and service to the people of the state.

The Governor extolled Oborevwori’s humility, simplicity and discipline in providing exceptional leadership for the State legislature by diligently bridging the gaps and creating a harmonious atmosphere for debates and exchange of ideas for state and national development.

Governor Okowa affirms that the Speaker’s personal attributes of selflessness, maturity and friendliness have substantially eased the relationship between the Executive and the Legislative arm, resulting in the prompt passage of bills that directly impact on the livelihood of Deltans.

“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I celebrate with one of Delta’s finest lawmakers, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on the occasion of his birthday anniversary today Wednesday, June 19, 2019.

“Mr. Speaker, you have brought stability, experience and worthy ideals to bear in the discharge of the functions of your office and we are entirely grateful to you. I, therefore, charge you to continue in your quest to provide leadership in the House as we seek further ways of partnership in our avowed determination to build a Stronger Delta of our dreams, he said, adding “I am proud of what you have achieved so far in terms of sustaining unity and harmony in the House. Your performance is impressive and you can count on my support in your quest to achieve unity in the House and the entire state.

“As you savour the joy of this happy occasion, I wish you more good health, greater fulfilment and long life in the service of our state.” the statement declared.
In a related Development, the Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Christopher Ochor Ochor also on Wednesday, joined family members, friends and well-wishers to celebrate with the speaker, saying that he is worthy to be celebrated as he had over the years shown his love for humanity through good representation.
He said his simplicity, and discipline had helped him to lead members of the state Assembly, which had created synergy between the Executive and the Legislative arm, as can be seen in the passages of bills by the house.
Ochor said because of the long existing relationship between him and the speaker, and his family, and as members of the legislative arm, it is good celebrating him because he is an achiever.
“I on behalf of my family, the members of the Delta State House of Assembly, I celebrate you on this your birthday.
“You have over the years played a vital role in the development of the state, especially in providing the needed law to develop our great state; you have endeared the three arms of government, Executive, Legislature and the judiciary to have a common purpose, and we wish that we, through your leadership of the House will continue to have that synergy for our government and its people.
“As you celebrate, I wish you good health, more service to our state and humanity,” Ochor stated.
