The Consultant of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) Hon. Joan Onyemaechi, has admonished traders and fruit vendors at the Smart Delta Delicacies/Fruits Shops, NTA Road Junction, Asaba to ensure their environment is kept clean.

Onyemaechi gave the admonition Tuesday when staff of the agency embarked on an enforcement, cleaning and beautification exercise in Asaba including: the Smart Delta Fruits Shops and Macdons Fast Food.

She said that the exercise was a routine responsibility of the agency, stressing that her mandate was to beautify the city and get things normal.

The consultant added that traders and business owners should only concentrate on what was approved for them instead of engaging in other activities that would deface their surroundings.

According to her, residents might not know the implications of daily cleaning exercise of the city, pointing out that if the people imbibe the habit of cleaning up their areas, flooding would be checked and drains will be free for easy flow of water.

She therefore called on the vendors to inculcate good hygienic principles, adding that her agency was working assiduously to beautify Asaba capital city in order to improve its aesthetic and enhance tourism.

Meanwhile, traders at the fruits shops commended the consultant for her friendly disposition towards them, adding that since they were allocated to trade at the junction, their lives had changed.
