Osuoza tasks Orientation Bureau On innovative awareness initiatives

By Patrick Mgbodo

To enhance grassroots awareness of the MORE Agenda and address emerging societal concerns, the Commissioner for Information, Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza, has called on the Delta State Bureau for Orientation to be innovative and think beyond traditional approaches.

Dr. Osuoza delivered this charge during a meeting yesterday with the Director General of the Orientation Bureau, Dr. Wilfred Oghenesivbe and his team.

The meeting served as both a congratulatory visit from the Bureau and an opportunity for strategic discussions on advancing public awareness initiatives.

Highlighting the importance of creative thinking, Dr. Osuoza emphasized the need for State Orientation bureau to be creative. Be creative; think outside the box. Let your activities and messages be able to trickle down in a way that people will feel the impact,” the Commissioner said, pointing out that the sensitization campaigns should be  tailored to engage and educate communities across the State. These campaigns, he stressed, should promote the MORE Agenda and also tackle pertinent societal concerns.

Commissioner for Information, Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, left, with Director General of Orientation Bureau, Olorogun Wilfred Oghenesivbe during the Bureau’s visit to the Commissioner.

“You (Orientation Bureau) just have to be creative; think outside the box, beyond the usual approach. Let your sensitization trickle to the grassroots,’’
Dr Osuoza said even as he further charged the leadership of the Orientation Bureau to work closely with the staff of the agency towards achieving the objectives.

He pledged to do his best in addressing some of the challenges raised with a further promise to work in greater synergy with the Bureau to actualize the MORE Agenda.

‘’We will not have any cause to disagree. I will do everything possible to ensure that your office does not suffer any inadequacies.
While congratulating Dr Osuoza, Dr. Oghenesivbe affirmed the Bureau’s commitment to collaborating closely with the Information Ministry to realize the governor’s M.O.R.E agenda for Deltans.

He said: ‘’I deemed it necessary that before others start coming to congratulate you (Hon. Commissioner), we, your agency should be the first to do so because we are an appendage of this Information Ministry. We shall be very loyal and supportive to your office.”
The Orientation Bureau DG also briefed the Information Commissioner on some of the agency’s challenges, just as he hinted at some of the sensitization plans across the state.
‘’We intend to sensitise the people on the dangers of drug abuse, tax, responsible driving and road safety and environmental sanitation’’ Oghenesivbe said, even as he expressed confidence in Dr. Osuoza’s competence to lead the state’s information machinery.
