Fidelis Chimokwu, Secretary and Mr. Kenneth Okwuenu, member said as the sun begins to set on the administration of governor Okowa that The Mid-Westerners thought it necessary to celebrate the governor who has proved himself to be a living legend of political engineering in Delta State.

Speaking highly of the achievements of the Governor in the area of educational development, the unprecedented achievement in providing roads for the people of the state, that earned him the epitaph “Road Master,” the seven Star Obi Professor Chike Edozien secretariat, the world class Stephen Keshi Stadium, the massive erosion and flood control work done through the storm drainage, Mr. Nwaham said for the marvelous works that Governor Okowa deserve to be celebrated.

He said: “We the Mid-Westerners wish to place on record the appreciation of Deltans for the massive developmental strides achieved by our amiable Governor Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa. It is a matter of regret that his achievements were not properly articulated to the indigenes of the state for them to truly appreciate him for what he did.

“As we bid farewell to a worthy achiever, we take this opportunity to congratulate once more the governor-elect, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori on his success at the 2023 Governorship election held on March 18, 2023. Having made history as the first and two-term Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, you have added another feather to your crown by becoming the first Okpe man to become Governor of Delta State come May 29, 2023. Your Excellency, Congratulations.”

Nwaham continued: “To whom much is given, much is also expected, so the wise men said. Governor Okowa has set the standard for you to follow. We encourage you to stick to it. Your MORE AGENDA which has been properly documented and articulated during your campaign should now be your covenant with the good people of Delta State. We will like to draw your attention to the following, for your urgent attention once you are sworn in on May 29, 2023:

“The retirement age of all civil servants in Delta State should be put at 65 in conformity with what the outgoing administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has done at the Federal level. Since the Federal Government has officially put the retirement age of teachers at 65, we encourage our in coming Governor to extend this to all civil servants in the State.

“Road infrastructure is always a burning issue in every community in Delta State, particularly in the rural areas. It is the rural areas that produce the food we eat. We therefore solicit a massive development of rural Road infrastructure to open up the rural areas in Delta State.

“Human capital development is the bedrock of democracy. Governor Okowa invested heavily in human capital development. We recommend to our in-coming Governor that his MORE AGENDA should place priority on the development of the abundant human resources that we have in Delta State.”
