Be agents of development, Ochor tasks Ukwuani leaders

OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The President Generals of Ukwuani Communities in Delta state have been admonished to see themselves as agents of development in their areas.
Executive Director, Social Services Development on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Hon Ochor Chris Ochor gave the advse at meeting of the President Generals of the Communities that made up the Ukwuani Local Government Area of the state.
Ochor who visited the group during their meeting recently held in Obiaruku, tasked the members on the need to help ensure that the process of effective development is enshrined in their activities.
Making reference to the recent communal crises that affected some communities in the area, he advocated that the group should be involved collectively in any action that will lead to any crises in the future in the LGA.
He called for synergy between the leadership of the body and those of the Clans Youth leaders, to effectively curtail causes of unrest.
On the general development of Ukwuani communities, he called effective engagements with those in position, to constantly call on them on the needs of the people.
Reacting on behalf of the group, the secretary, Mr Timothy Umukoro, affirmed the mandate of the body to ensure continuous unity, peace and development in the entire Ukwuani LGA.
