Wives of traditional rulers in Delta State have been told to be positive change agents of society in the kingdom where they are the queens.
Wife of Delta State Governor, Dame Edith Okowa and Barrister Kesiena Sampson made the call at separate times when the wife of the governor hosted the queens from the 25 local government areas of the state and other women on Tuesday at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba.

“It has become common place for our young children to go out and return with items that even we, their parents, cannot

“Our young ones are gradually but steadily slipping out of our hands and if we keep folding our hands, we are not sure of what the future would become.

“It has become common place for our young children to go out and return with items that even we, their parents, cannot afford.

“The drive to get rich quick and at all cost has eaten deep and we must step in before things get out of hands.

“Our girl children have also taken to the streets as sex workers, a trend that has become rather worrisome.

“In as much as we have gathered here to celebrate the season, we must bring these issues to the front burner”, she said.

She extended her appreciation to the royal mothers for the work of unity they had been doing in the state.

“Delta is peaceful because of what you are doing in your various kingdoms and I pray you will not miss your rewards”.
Earlier, in a sermon titled: “Eve Generation and Mary Generation”, Barrister Kesiena Samson urged the royal mothers to ponder on the generation each of them belong to. She said: ” There are generations of women who affect and influence their generations positively; they are the Mary generation, and there is the generation of women that affect and influence their generations negatively, these are the Satan generation.

Barrister Samson made reference to Genesis 2:18, pointing out that God created the wife to be a help meet to the husband, she said: “The Eve generation discusses with Satan; it is the generation of poverty, aches and confusion. They are the generation that cause pain in the world. They are only interested in seductive fashion. They go from native doctor to another native doctor. They use the power of the devil to affect the world negatively.

“The Mary generation are positive makers. The king has authority, but the queen has influence that sustains the throne.

“The Mary generation are women that sustains the throne through prayers and intercession. They are like the Shunemite woman in the Bible.

“Which generation are you? Barrister Samson asked the wives of monarchs, adding: “You know the generation you belong to and the Almighty God knows. No one can deceive God.”

“If you belong to the Mary generation, this generation believes in salvation. The most important thing in the world is salvation.

“Are you ready for salvation? It’s the reason the Holy Spirit has used Her Excellency to gather us together here”, pointing out that the yoke of the devil is heavy as he deprives his followers of sleep, making them to wake up at odd hours and go to junctions to put fetish things there.

“The qualification of a Mary generation is to be born again,” Barrister Kesiena Samson said, and then proceeded to make an altar call for salvation.
