DTSG sets up panel on challenges of state owned broadcast stations

Delta State Government has set up a committee to look into the challenges facing the state-owned broadcasting stations with a view to finding lasting solutions that would increase their capacity to effectively publicise the achievements of the present administration as well as perform their  roles of informing, educating and entertaining the citizenry.

This was disclosed, Wednesday, by the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, when he received the Chairman and members of the Board of Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, in his office in Asaba.

Dr. Osuoza explained that the committee would look holistically at the challenges facing Delta Broadcasting Service, Asaba and Warri, and proffer workable solutions to enable them take their pride of place in the Information dissemination machinery of the state government as well as compete favourably with other Broadcasting outfits.

While urging the Board members to cooperate with their chairman, Dr. Osuoza charged them to be resourceful, diligent and work to restore discipline to the establishment.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Board of Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, Chief Moses Odibo, felicitated the commissioner on his appointment, stating that as a former chairman of the Board of DBS, Warri, Dr. Osuoza was abreast of the challenges and was best fitted for the position of Commissioner for Information to enable him fix the challenges facing the information management sector in the state.
