IPC’s workshop for journalists on safety, security kicks off in Asaba

 

A media capacity building workshop for journalists on safety/security consciousness and mechanisms in investigative reporting and coverage of conflicts/dangerous assignment has kicked off Wednesday in Asaba.

The two-day event holding at Vienna International Hotel, DBS Road, Asaba is organised by the International Press Centre, Ijaiye Road, Ogba, Lagos.

IPC’s Executive Director, Mr. Lanre Arogundade, who taught on “stages/phases of conflict, roles of journalists and safety challenges declared the workshop opened with the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu commending the IPC for its thoughtfulness in organising the programme and for taking uncommon interest in the well-being of journalists in the country.

Mr. Peter Nkanga, a proficient resource person dutifully handled the second presentation of the day entitled ” Data and digital security and Related security Issues in Investigative Reporting and Coverage Assignments (1).
