May 26, 2026 – The Peter Obi Media Office (POMR) has issued a firm denial of widely circulated figures claiming that Mr. Peter Obi secured 45 million votes in a non-existent primary election.
In a statement released today, POMR condemned the alleged data, which has been spreading across social media and news platforms as “entirely false” and “fabricated.” The figures were reportedly linked to a so-called primary election by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), a party the statement insists does not have any such official process involving Mr. Obi.
“We wish to state categorically that these figures are entirely false, fabricated; as such, the primary never took place and no figure was generated from any process,” said Ibrahim Umar, POMR Spokesman.
The office urged the public, party supporters, and journalists to completely disregard the misleading statistics, emphasizing that accurate information about Mr. Obi’s political engagements will only be released through verified and authorized channels.
In unusually sharp language, the statement warned those behind the fraudulent attribution: “Those behind this fraudulent figure attribution to Peter Obi are looking for partners in their fraud, but they should look elsewhere, not with Peter Obi.”
The POMR reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and called on media houses to verify any political data before publication. No further details about the origin of the fake figures have been released.
